Memorial Day Weekend

We made a quick trip to El Paso for the Memorial Day weekend for an impromptu Whetten Family Reunion that just fell together by chance.   We were lucky to be a part of some special family events and almost had the whole clan was there.  It was fun to spend time together and have our children get to know their cousins better.

Friday - May 28, 2010
We all got together for a swimming barbecue at the Gaspar de Alba's community pool.  The water was freezing, but the kids didn't seem to mind.
That evening we all went to Fuddruckers for dinner
and took a shared birthday cake to celebrate all the May birthdays: Natalia, Blake, Mario, and Daniel.
Saturday - May 29, 2010
In the morning we took family pictures up at the house on Hollydale.  We had debated different locations with potentially better lighting and scenery, but the house seemed like the most appropriate setting for a historic photo with nearly the entire Whetten family.  The photographer took our whole family group shot and since we were all dressed Eric took a bunch of different smaller group pictures as well.

Saturday afternoon we filled the entire relief society room at the Bishop Flores chapel for Daniel's baptism
and the blessing of Cynthia and Mauren's new baby, Analisa.
May 30, 2010 - After church we meet at the house for Sunday dinner.  We had yummy food made by Robert and Joey.  All the kids were spread throughout the house mostly in their age groups playing.
The younger kids were playing in the pond pretending to be baby birds eating leaves from a tree.  It was cute to hear them acting things out and to see them interact nicely with each other.
Brayden's age were play wrestling which may have turned into a fight.
