Memorial Weekend

Robert's family came to visit for Memorial Weekend.  So, we spent the weekend doing touristy things in San Antonio.  On Saturday, May 28th we went with them to Sea World to the Aquatica water park.
On Monday, the 29th we went downtown to the Alamo and a museum on the grounds.

Then, we went to go eat at Rudy's on their way out of town.

Market Days for Blake

Blake chose to make pom pom animals to sell at his market place.  He got help from Julia to get his stock up.  He was good about making the first set of 6, but then died out and Julia came in to help make the rest.  When he came home he said "I got sold out.  Everyone bought from me.  I was one of the first groups to set stuff out and sell.  I sold my animals for $.10."  I asked Blake why he didn't sell it for more and he told me he had a lot of money to start out.  So, he didn't need more money.  Some didn't even have a $1.  They got money for good behavior over a month or two.
This is what he purchased at market days:
Service of nails painted - $.10 (done with watercolors)
Magnet - $.25
Miniature basketball hoop and ball - $.25
Monster out of Model Magic- $.50
2 tongue depressor airplanes - $.25
pen - $.10
pencil - $.25
bookmark - $.10

all around medal julia blake, readers are leaders

It was fun for us to have both Blake and Julia receive the all around medal at the last Kuentz award  ceremony.  It was an award for the student that has shown all 7 habits through out the year.  The habits are: Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw.

An email we received from Blake's teacher Mrs. Snyder and Julia's teacher Mrs. Rodriguez letting us know that Blake  and Julia would be be recognized.

Julia and Blake both finished their reading logs for the year and were able to attend the "Leaders are Readers" celebration.
