Doctor Who Halloween

The kids came up with their idea to do a doctor who themed Halloween a few months before Halloween.  Julia figured out that she wanted to be a weeping angel pretty early.  Matt spent a lot of time putting together her wings.  Brayden's costume came together  in the last couple of days because he kept changing his mind of what he wanted to be.  He settled on a headless monk because it was relatively easy to do last minute.  We had a headless monk, weeping angel, River song, Cyberman, Dalek.  We got a lot of compliments on our costumes.  Of course there was only people who have watched the show that knew who we were.

Matt and I went to a Halloween costume party where we dressed up as Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein.  We won the award of best couple costume.

Kylee was not into doing the family theme and decided to go out on her own and be Sally from The nightmare before Christmas.  She made her own costume and I helped with the wig.  It thought she did a great job.

Kristel's Birthday

I had a great birthday.  I slept in and so did Asher, which was a nice present.  Matt and the kids (minus Asher) made me more than a traditional cinnamon roll breakfast.  They also made me some yummy crepes.  I love crepes and anytime we get to have them.  The kids like them too.  Matt started working on my cake the day before, so when I came out for breakfast they surprised me with a yummy breakfast, presents, and my birthday cake.  The cake was an exact replica of the cat on my pajama top.  I get compliments on my pajama top from the kids because they like cats.  So, it was the perfect cake for Matt to make.  He did a great job copying it.  Luckily I had slept with that pajama top.  I laughed so hard when I saw the cake, it was perfect.  My birthday was on a Sunday, so I was able to go to church with my family which was really nice.  The Herreras came over that night for dinner and cake.  The next day was Columbus day which Matt had off but the kids did not.  Matt and I celebrated my birthday as a couple by going to eat breakfast at Kneaders.  I had the best french toast I have ever had.  After breakfast we went to the Parade of homes for a couple of hours.  We went close to when it opened, so there were not very many people there.  I like going and looking at other people's houses.  It is fun to explore.  There were some neat things about those houses in the Dominion, but it made me appreciate more the house we do have.  I really like our house and backyard.  We went to eat as a family for my birthday at Zio's.  Friday of the same week, a friend set up a birthday breakfast at Kneaders with sisters from the ward.  It was fun and yummy.

Chick Fil A Military Appreciation Day

Chick fil a is really good at appreciating the military.  Every year at all the chick fil a's, they offer free food for the whole family of the military member.  They give you a sandwich and fries or nuggets and fries.  At the location we live by now they go all out.  They clear out one side of the parking lot and set up a tent to sit and eat under and provide a lot of fun activities.  They have someone face painting, making balloon animals, and doing character drawings.  It was a lot of fun we stayed there for a few hours.
It was fun to get the character drawings for free.
