Cub Scout Hike - Rubber band shooting

The cub scouts planned an outdoor activity at the Eisenhower park to hike up to a little view point.  It was a family activity so I took all the boys with me.  It was a fun little hike and nice to get out and enjoy nature.  It was easy enough for Asher to do.  I did have to keep encouraging him to keep moving along.

Through my window I saw Blake and Asher shooting the rubber band guns that Brayden had made for a cub scout activity.  It made me so happy to see Blake being so sweet with Asher and playing with him.

Interpretations of poop

Asher likes to describe his poop , he recently said it was orange and red.

In the past he has said it looks like a banana.

Recently he said they look like they are walking.  One has a smile.

Marco's Fundraiser

Kuentz Elementary Fundraiser was at Marco's Pizza.  They gave blank pizza boxes to all the kids in the school to decorate however they wanted to.  Then they took the pizza boxes to the business and on two different days depending on what grade your child was in, you could go and buy pizza and they would put it in the box that your student decorated.  It made it way more exciting for the kids and made it where the kids were selling it to the parents also.  Blake was reminding us all week that it was coming up.  There were a lot of parents from the school buying pizza that day, so hopefully they made some good money.

Bike Rodeo

After taking the year off in third grade, Blake decided to do the bike rodeo again in 4th.  There was only 4 kids in his class that decided to do it.  The numbers of participants drop as they get higher in the grades.  The main purpose is to make sure the bikes are safe and so they do a checklist with a police man.  Then they do a series of bike riding tricks, they go as slow as they can, ride straight and in a circle and through cones.  Blake said he messed when he did the cones because he put his foot down.

World Quest 2018

Kylee is in her third year of doing World Quest.  She was really excited to get 3rd place.  They didn't think they would place that high since they haven't been able to in the past.  They learn facts in the area of NAFTA, ASEAN at 50, India's bid for global leadership, combating climate change, Saudi Arabia, Cyber Security, Great Decisions, The peace building tool kit, America's Diplomats, and Current Events.  The team split it up and had to study 2 of the topics.  Kylee did Saudi Arabia and America's Diplomats.  A few of the topics stay the same each year, but most of them are different.  There is a private school called Keystone that usually does pretty well because they have a class dedicated to learning the facts in those areas.  For Kylee's team they study on their own and get together and work on it after school.
