Rodeo Day - MDO / Kuentz

Asher's Mother's Day Out had a rodeo day.  For homework before Rodeo day they had to decorate a horse head.  They put the horses on sticks and raced them.  We were so focused on turning in the horse head we forgot to look for cowboy attire to wear for the day.  We couldn't find his boots

One of the 3 parties for the year was a Rodeo day party.  The other room mom took the reigns and did most of the planning and preparation.  It turned out pretty good.  She made a neat backdrop where each of the students took pictures with clothes that she brought to dress up in.  Then they made an ornament with their picture.  They had some dressing up as cowboy relays and Matt made a couple of horse saw horses to play a hula hoop roping relay. We helped bring some snacks and she had a cute set up for the food.  Asher and Austin had some fun times joining in on the festivities.

50's sock hop

Matt took the girls for the stake daddy daughter dance on Saturday, February 17th.  With the 50's theme I thought it would be fun for them to dress up.  Mandy told me she was making skirts for her girls and said that they aren't hard to make.  So the day of the dance I was able to make them with the help of Matt.  I think it made it a little more fun to go dressed up.  Last minute poodle skirts made it more exciting to go.  They started off the night with picking food up from Slim Chickens because the girls didn't want to go in somewhere to eat all dressed up.  Most of the time they spent in line for Karaoke, they only danced for a little bit.

Kylee really liked the theme.  She enjoyed getting dressed up, the ice cream bar, and watching all the kids sing Karaoke.  Julia's favorite part was dancing and gettting dressed up.  Matt's favorite part was "rolling up my jeans and dancing with my girls".

Are there more pictures from the stake? - Herrera's there?

New Beginings

The past couple of big events for young womens they have been really good at having the girls plan it and each class takes an area of the program and they choose a theme as a group.  The theme options were Dr. Seuss, UP, Keep moving forward - the robinsons, and disney princesses.  They ended up choosing disney princess which the leaders were a little nervous about what the focus would be.  It ended up turning out great.  They did a good job with all of it.  Kylee and Julia got to be one of the "princesses" For the decorations the miamaids free handed the different princess silhouettes and they made posters out of them.  The laurels made the treats.

Add the program.

Valentine Box

Asher had an assignment to make a Valentine's box for his valentine exchange activity.  Matt helped come up with a valentine monster box, where you put the cards in through the mouth.

Whataburger Anniversary

We almost forgot about our Whataburger house Anniversary.  Luckily Matt remembered and we used an FHE night to do it.  It ended up being chilly outside, but the tradition is to eat outside.  So, when we were done eating we were anxious to get back inside the house.
