Schlitterbahn 2019

We went to schlitterbahn for the the military day.  Carl and Katje joined us, but drove in a seperate car.  Schlitterbahn is great because you can take food in, so we packed some lunch with sandwiches, chips,  drinks, and snacks. We got there early and it wasn't too crowded, so we could get our usual spot by one of the kid playing areas.  Asher did pretty well, he rode most of the rides with us.  We tried to stay away from the scarier ones because he was in his own tube.  On one of the rides I had to go after julia because she got pushed down a slide when the rest stopped to go to the surfing area.  Kylee and her friends sat in the warm pool while the younger kids played in the kiddie area. They seemed to love the lazy river, so they went around it several times.  There was lots and lots of chasing each other in the lazy river.

Mother's Day

Kuentz Elementary has a Mother Spa day to celebrate Mother's Day for Kinder and 5th.  I have a son in each of those grades, so I got to go two days in a row to get a makeover.  Blake's was first on Thursday and I asked him what he wanted to do and he really didn't care.  So, I took some nail polish for him to paint my nails with.  He had never used nail polish before, so it took some figuring out.  In the classroom there was all the girls going to town giving their Mom's makeovers and most of the boys were sitting somewhere else playing on electronics.  There were only a few boys doing the makeovers.  Blake was good about painting my nails and bringing me food, but was anxious when he was done to join the boys on the electronics couch.

Since I didn't bring much for Blake to do, only nail polish, I was feeling guilty and decided to bring more for Asher to do.  He was excited to put makeup on me and got to choose the eye shadow to use.  He matched it with my clothes and was very careful when he was putting it on.  He also painted my nails in a pattern of red and pink and combed my hair for a little bit.  There was plenty of food, so the students could have some too.  He really liked eating the donut holes. Asher had a lot of pictures and papers to share with me.  It was fun to spend time with each of the boys for my Mother Spa Day.

I was spoiled on Mother's Day.  Matt made two meals for Mother's Day.  For breakfast he woke up early to make the yummy crepes and after church he made my favorite salmon with asparagus.  When they came to wake me up, I was already up and in the bathroom.  So when I came out they were all in our bed.

Asher said, "Look, I made my blueberry have hair."

Easter 2019

The Easter Baskets were left on our front porch with the ring of a doorbell.  The kids had fun opening up the mini figures that were in the basket and seeing which one they got.

We invited Ryan and Robert over for Easter dinner.  Robert was out of town, but Ryan was able to came over for dinner. Ryan and Matt ended up hiding the 75 easter eggs for our hunt.  Blake and Asher looked for them and Brayden joined them for a bit. Trek was coming up, so Kylee and Julia were making the trek skirts.  We were feeling pretty ambitious and so Julia, Blake, and Asher also dyed some Easter eggs.

Ryan hung out for a couple of hours and we were happy he could come since we found out he would be leaving for BYU Provo in a couple of days.  It was fun to catch up with him and I think he appreciated the meal.
