The Easter Baskets were left on our front porch with the ring of a doorbell. The kids had fun opening up the mini figures that were in the basket and seeing which one they got.
We invited Ryan and Robert over for Easter dinner. Robert was out of town, but Ryan was able to came over for dinner. Ryan and Matt ended up hiding the 75 easter eggs for our hunt. Blake and Asher looked for them and Brayden joined them for a bit. Trek was coming up, so Kylee and Julia were making the trek skirts. We were feeling pretty ambitious and so Julia, Blake, and Asher also dyed some Easter eggs.
Ryan hung out for a couple of hours and we were happy he could come since we found out he would be leaving for BYU Provo in a couple of days. It was fun to catch up with him and I think he appreciated the meal.

El Paso Trip
I felt like we should go for a little bit of spring break and see my mom since she has been sick. Kylee couldn't take much time off since the requests for spring break vacation at Chick fil a were already filled. So I flew on Friday during the day and Matt drove the family early Saturday morning. He got there right after Bert and Kara's family made it to my parents house traveling back from Mexico City. We were able to spend a few hours with his family as Rebecca shared about her mission. The kids, especially Brayden, like to go to Charcoaler when we are in town. It had closed down, but luckily it had reopened with new owners and we wanted to check it out. So, we took the kids to have dinner at Charcoaler and it was pretty good. They have added some new items to the menu, but have also kept all the original items.
It was nice to be able to go to church with my parents. It was nice to see Mom go and be able to stay through the sacrament meeting. Afterwards we went home and had a really yummy dinner. Mamaquel was able to eat more than she had eaten in a long time.
After church, dinner, and hanging out at my house for a bit. We went and drove around a little bit and showed the kids some places that were a part of our childhood. Matt showed them his first home in El Paso, we drove by our old church building, and drove past my old homes. GraMindy showed us this cool sign that we took pictures by.
Brayden was checking things out in the closet in the room that we were staying in and found some boots that fit him. He put them on and really liked them and was walking around. He went and showed Grandpa and he told him that he could have them. He told him that he cant wear them anymore and was willing to pass them on. Brayden was so excited to inherit the boots from Grandpa. He said that they were alligator skin.
Grandpa enjoyed giving a tour of all the artifacts that he has and the kids enjoyed listening about them, especially Brayden.
The last time we were in El Paso we did not get to go to Hot Dog on a Stick. I introduced them a while back and they like it as much as I do. So, we spent a fortune to have some hot dog on a stick snacks. The prices have definitely gone up since the days of my childhood when my mom would buy them for us at the price of $1. The mall that it was in was really sad. It has really gone down hill since we lived in El Paso and there aren't very many stores left in there.

Rebecca's homecoming
Bert and Kara went down to Mexico City with their whole family to pick up Rebecca from her mission. They did some sightseeing and were even able to see and walk in our old house. On their way back home, they made a trip to El Paso to come and see Mamaquel and Grandpa. Since we were in El Paso for a little bit of spring break we got to see her. Matt drove in from San Antonio just after they got there. I came a day earlier because I had already planned to come visit my mom since she has been sick. We decided that Matt would come the next day also, so the kids could see Mamaquel. Dad had Rebecca share her testimony and some things that she learned from her mission. It was good to hear about her experiences and ask her questions about her mission. One interesting thing she shared was that they did quite a bit of teaching online.

Asher medal
Asher has recently wanted to get his own medal. Blake has gotten medals for soccer, so he wants to do soccer so he can get a medal. We got an email from Mrs. Cissell saying that Asher was going to be receiving the character medal at the assembly on Friday morning. It came in perfect timing to get nominated for a medal in his kindergarten class for character habits 4-6. There were two from each class that got the medals. He saw us during the assembly and was showing us his medal. You could tell he was excited. He was happy to see us and be there for the medal presentation.

Book character parade
For the reading celebration they had a book character day. They dressed up as book character of their choice and had a parade. We were lazy and the boys were ok with using their Halloween costumes for their book character, so Asher was the lorax and blake was sam i am. Kylee did great with painting Asher's lorax mustache and eyebrows.

Asher's 1st lost tooth
A few weeks before Asher was complaining that his tooth was hurting him and that he couldn't eat. I had no idea that he had a loose tooth because it was a lot earlier than any of the other kids lost their first tooth. He ended up loosing his tooth while at school. It fell out and was in his mouth. He was able to get a tooth necklace to bring the tooth home in it. He was excited about loosing his tooth and getting money from the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy in our house is very forgetful. Asher was carrying his tooth around the first night, so when it came time to go to bed he couldn't find it. The 2nd night he put it under his pillow, but the tooth fairy did not show up. Finally on the 3rd night the tooth fairy came and gave him two dollars. He was pretty excited.
